The Seattle Widows Grief Support Group can be helpful if:
you live in Seattle, are 55 years of age and over, and you have lost a spouse or partner within the last 18 months.
since your partner or spouse died, you feel lost or unsure about how to keep going.
you replay the last months, weeks, or days of your person's life, like a movie that won't turn off.
you grieve for the future you had planned together.
you feel unsure about if or how you will fill the space your partner left behind.
You want to discover the 'me' after 'we.'
you worry that others are moving on with their lives, while the pain of your grief is still fresh.
you wonder if you're leaning too heavily on your adult children, friends or family.
you are seekingin-person supportand connection with others who 'get it.'
The early days, weeks and months after a partner dies are akin to landing, alone, in a foreign country, the language of which we neither speak nor understand. It's common for widows in the early stages of grief to feel lonely and isolated.
Social support can be a conduit to our own, natural healing capabilities. You deserve to be well-supported through your grief. I hope you'll consider joining our community.
